Hi all, I'm back from mission trip! (: Took like 300-400 photographs, learnt alot and had lots of fun. So now, I shall summarise this 5D4N trip into a blog post I spent hours on!
Day 1 (14 Mar) Had to meet at the airport at 5.30am to catch our flight to Bangkok > Chiang Rai > bus to Wiang Kaen (the mission home). Did some shopping, eating & photographs at the airports (:

It took like 1 whole day of traveling to finally reach the Home! The bus ride was very bumpy and along the way, we saw many forest fires :/

Day 2 (15 Mar)Attended the mass in the morning and played ice breaker games. Also, I was introduced to my Thai buddy - Janjila. She's very pretty and cute and nice :)

Day 3 (16 Mar)Did weeding in the morning. We had to chunkel and rake the weeds and they were like super tall and many! It was very tiring and exhausting :/ Hehe, but Jolene Charyl Qihong and I (plus some others) managed to successfully create a pile! :) Taught my buddy Janjila some basic english after lunch. The children are v sincere in learning and hardworking!
Played games like 'London Bridge' and the gantry game at night, it was very fun :)

Day 4 (17 Mar)

Sister brought us to visit the village (: It was quite an eye opener as I haven't rly seen rural areas before. The village didn't have much facilities or amenities and the people were v poor.

Went to the Mekong River too. Hahah, sounds familar right COS IT'S A PART OF OUR TORTURE FROM GEOGRAPHY AHHAH! The teachers kept joking that it was Miss Jacqueline Lee's favourite part lol. The Mekong River was huge and the area was very sandy!

We had a farewell concert at night as were leaving the next day ): The children were very talented and put up a great show for us! They are so cute :D Then it was St.Nicholas 's turn, ours was much simpler than theirs and we ended with the 'IJ spirit' and 'Caritas' song. It was very touching and saddening when each of the children came up to us to hug everyone of us. It feels so sad that we had to leave soon as we had so much fun and good memories at Wiang Kaen! And my buddy was rly sweet, she kissed me :) Love yall much!
After breakfast, we said bye to this wonderful & memorable mission trip, bye to the Home, bye to the children and embarked on our journey back to Singapore (stress, studies, expectations)!

I sat beside a mad girl aka Jolene Ng on the aeroplane back to SG and she irritated the shit out of me :)

Reached Singapore about 11pm, then went to terminal 3 airport to celebrate Qihong 's birthday and later, cabbed home (: Happy birthday Qihong!

I had a really wonderful time at Wiang Kaen (: I learnt alot from the children, in terms of independence, strong will and discipline. I learnt to love more and appreciate my parents and my friends more too. This mission trip seems like an early birthday present for me, and if so it's definitely the best b'day present I've received by far :) Thank God.
I miss my buddy Janjila. I miss the children. I miss playing games together. I miss Wiang Kaen.
